Civil Initiative „In the Name of the Family“ published a report on its website on 16 June 2013, providing information about the spending for the period of 12-26 May 2013, when the citizens expressed their view on the need to call a referendum. The report can be accessed from the following link. The total amount donated by the citizens and legal entities by 16 June 2013 is HRK 164,659.80.
Let it be also said that the Government of the Republic of Croatia, GONG and other pro-government associations have yet to present their reports for the anti-campaign they lead during the signing of the petition.
In the period since 16 June 2013, Civil Initiative „In the Name of the Family“ has received donations totalling HRK 231,654.00, out of which 70% from natural persons and 30% from legal entities.
All the requisite financial reports on the financial activities of the Civil Initiative have been submitted to the Ministry of Finance.
Civil Initiative „In the Name of the Family“ will accept the recommendation issued by the State Electoral Commission and present the information on the total funds raised 24 hours before the day of referendum.
In addition, on 21 November 2013, Civil Initiative „In the Name of the Family“ asked the State Electoral Commission to clarify which of the referendum promotion participants were subject to an obligation to publicise their financial reports. Will SEC require of those who have been the most active participants of the anti-referendum campaign: the Government of the RoC, political parties, EuropaPress Holding, Croatian Radio and Television and all the pro-Government associations, to submit their financial reports, as well? We are still waiting to hear, should the Civil Initiative publicise the names of the natural persons and legal entities who have financially supported the Initiative, how the State Electoral Commission proposes to protect them from the kind of mobbing, threats and abuse that all those who spoke out in support of the Initiative have been targeted with.
So, for instance, following her public support of the marriage between man and woman, Ms Blanka Vlašić found herself under attack, and her sponsors were contacted with requests to terminate her sponsorship contracts. Now the pressure is being applied against the legal entities, their business partners receiving threatening phone calls, because they dared say that marriage was a union of man and woman.
